Priorities
- Maintain
funding for highway maintenance and encourage continued participation and support for Bridge Replacement Off-System (BRO) and County Aid Road Trust (CART) programs
- Preserve funding support for programs in economic development that positively impact business development, encourage local match and invest in regional tourism and development – such as the Highway 36 Heritage Alliance
- Equalize rate mandates of federal and state funding for municipal water/wastewater improvements
- GNW Legislative Advisory Watch List:
Endorse legislation (HB 1442) that maintains local taxing jurisdictions’ existing voter-approved sales tax rates and enables cities to seek voter-approved general sales tax rates (not to exceed 2%) and capital improvement sales tax (rates not to exceed 1%).
