TIME COMMITMENT AND CLASS MEETING DATES
Classes will meet monthly beginning with a two-day retreat in St. Joseph on January 17th and
18th. They will continue at locations throughout the region on February 15th, March 15th, April
12th, May 10th, and June 7th. Graduation will be the evening of June 28th, to be followed by an
optional project retreat on July 12th.
Classes begin at 9 a.m. and will adjourn by 4 p.m. Also, there will be required evening activities on January 17th.

You are expected to attend every session. However, you will be allowed to be absent from one session with prior approval and permission of the
Program Coordinator. An absence is missing a whole session or any part thereof. If you miss more than the one approved absence; you will need to make up the applicable
session(s) the following year in order to graduate.

Leadership Northwest MissouriSM
Class of 2007 Graduates
Leadership Northwest MissouriSM Class of 2007 held their graduation ceremony Thursday evening, June 28th at the St. Joseph Country
Club.
The celebration began at 6:00 p.m. and included a reception, dinner and program. Mr. Mark Garges of Cameron, and 2005 graduate of Leadership Northwest
MissouriSM, served as Emcee. Mrs. Brenda Parman, Board Chair and 2001 graduate from Grant City, extended a welcome to all in attendance. State Representative Mike Thomson, Maryville, gave the invocation. Ms. Jaymi Cotter (St. Joseph), Mrs. Melissa Koch (Savannah), Mrs. Amy Ryan (St. Joseph), Mr. Kevin Austin (Grant City), Mr. Rodney Hummer (Savannah) and Mr. Tim Howard (Maryville) represented their class, sharing experiences of the last six months and presenting unique certificates to each class member. Mr. Steve Schieber of Savannah, and 2001 graduate of Leadership Northwest
MissouriSM, presented the Leadership Northwest MissouriSM Citizenship Award for 2007 to Mr. Shellby Hendee, Development Director, City of Cameron. Mrs. Brenda Parman, LNWMO Board Chair from Grant City, presented each of the twenty-six graduating class members a plaque for completing the program.
Leadership Northwest MissouriSM is a leadership development program designed to bring together participants from throughout a 16-county region to sharpen their leadership skills, explore regional issues and gain a network of contacts throughout the region. The class began in January and continued through June with monthly sessions in various northwest Missouri communities. Classes were held in Albany, Bethany, Cameron, Carrollton, Maryville and St. Joseph. Each session contained instruction on various leadership skills, in-depth examinations of various issues facing the region and hands-on exercises. In addition to economic development, other regional issues that were addressed included healthcare, education, infrastructure, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and the legislative process.
